Advanced poker - Attack those blinds
No matter which type of holdem game your are playing (limit, pot limit or no
limit, even full ring or shorthanded), when everyone folded to you on the dealer
button, you need to attack the blinds very often. This is because not only
you will get them often, but even if you don't, your opponent will be playing
his hand from out of position.
Don't forget the continuation bet
When attacking the blinds and getting called, you will have to make a continuation
bet on the flop most of the time. You need to do this in order to keep
your opponents confused and make some money by stealing pots.
Play anything, not everything
What's the difference? Playing anything means you could attack with any
hands, but playing everything means you attack every time. Yes, you have
to sometime attack with weak hands, even 72o, but fold them sometimes too.
If the blinds folds very often, attack more often even with crap. If the
players on the blinds defend their blinds, then fold more weak hands.
It helps getting paid when the time is right
By playing many hands on the dealer button when everyone folded, many players
will lose respect toward you. When they see that you raise preflop with
63s, they just want to take your money. These players don't notice that
you are actually adjusting to position, so they just stop beleiving your bets.
This way, when you flop a monster hand against this opponents, you can get paid
much more easily.
