Full ring limit holdem
I hope you are patient, because full ring limit holdem is all about patience
and attacking blinds on CO and the dealer button. Since the betting of
this game is limited, speculative hands like suited Aces and suited connectors
does not have as much value as they do in no limit holdem.
You may, of course, adapt this preflop chart to how weak the players are at
your table. But, as a general rule, limit holdem is about playing superior
hands preflop. This chart is based on a table with 10 players, if there is
only 9, skip UTG. As with any other holdem game, NEVER EVER open limp!
Let's start with the preflop chart.
Under The Gun (first to act preflop)
Raise with 99-AA, AK and AQ. You may also add AJs in weak games.
Under The Gun + 1
Like UTG, but you may add AJs, AJo in very weak games. If UTG limped,
you may also limp with 77 and 88, especially if players does not raise often.
Middle position (second to 5th to act)
Almost like UTG+1, but you can add a few hands like ATs and KQs, especially
in the end of middle position. If there are 2 or more limpers, you can
limp and sometime raise hands like small pairs, A8s-A9s, suited cards that are
both T or better.
Late position 1 (just before CO)
It's almost like middle position, but limp less and raise more with hands
like A8s-A9s and suited cards both T or better.
CO
Raise 77-AA, AK-AT, A9s-A7s and KQ. If 2 or more people limped, only
limp 77 and 88, also limp any suited connectors starting at 67s, any suited Ace
and any pocket pairs.
If everyone folded to you and the dealer button and blinds folds often, raise
many hands, if not close to everything!
The blinds
On the blinds, against a raise, the more there are players in the pot, the
more you can play many hands, but still only play hands that have some potential
(not like K2o).
