Odds of getting a specific hand preflop
When you have KK and get reraised preflop, have you ever wondered what are
the odds of getting AA? It's 1 out of 221! In the long run, you will
get a specific pocket pair every 221 hands.
What about AK? It's a little less than 1 time out of 83, so you do get
it much more often than AA or KK. But, if you want it suited, than your
odds are much smaller, even smaller than AA... only 1 out of 331.
The odds are of course, the same for any other non paired hand.
Some other postflop odds
1 Overcard and top pair vs bottom 2 pairs (ex: AK vs 72 flop K72): You
can win the hand with any A, any K or if the turn and river makes a pair.
This gives you a winning probability of about 25%. If you would have had
an overpair like AA instead, your odds would have been exactly the same!
Top pair flush draw vs a set (ex: AK vs 77 flop K72, AK has a flush
draw): AK now can get his flush to win (and 77 not getting full) or
getting a lucky full house with turn and river being either AA, KK, AK, A2 or
K2. This has 30% chances of happening, good luck :)
