Taking notes

To make the most money out of online poker, you want 2 things, good play and information. In poker, knowledge is not power, it’s money! There are 2 things that really helps getting or keeping the information, and those are software (like poker tracker) and notes. You don’t have to take notes every hand, you don’t have to refer to your notes on every hand, but they might really help on difficult decisions!

On most poker rooms, you don’t have much room for notes, you have to make short notes. Write what’s important. Some players try to steal the pot on every river, knowing that really helps! If you see somebody calling big bets on the flop, turn and river with a small pair, he might be on tilt, but if he does it often, write it down. When you see a very solid player, write it down. You will be happy to avoid a table when you notice that many players at the table have a “very solid player” note.
